At the Oh, Christmas Tree
storytime on December 20th, Miss Kim and Miss Stephanie needed
volunteers to help with a Christmas song.
Miss Kim sang about a
mouse's "Twelve Days of Christmas," while the volunteers showed each
"gift" from the song.
The "gifts" included
flapping wrens, nuts for nibbling and a firefly in a fir tree. |
After storytime, everyone
got to make neat Christmas tree hats.

We had a great turnout for the
annual teen program, Manga Madness! Besides learning more about
Japan, we got to meet others like us who love all things
Japanese.
We got a small taste of Japan,
with our "bento box" snacks. We've all had ramen noodles before, but
for some this was their first taste of tofu. It was surprisingly
tasty! |
We also got to try our
hand at a traditional Japanese craft by making an origami ball.
Later we got to test
our knowledge of Japan by playing a game of Jeopardy. It's
amazing how much you can learn by reading manga!
Everyone was so
excited, we can wait until the next program.
