How do I participate?

Participation is easy! Sign up at the library from May 28th to July 3rd and start reading!

All you need is a library card in good standing; there is no age limit to get a library card.

You can also pre–register online from May 9th – May 23rd at noon. Be sure to include your library card number on the online form, and don't forget to stop by the library when the program begins on May 28th to get a dot on your library card.

There are just a few guidelines to keep in mind when you select books to read this summer!

  1. Books checked out before May 28th do not count.
  2. Books you have read before do not count.
  3. You must have your library card with you to check out books.
  4. Books have to be on (or above) your reading level and checked out on your card.
  5. You can earn 1 “bonus book” for reading 5 books to a younger sibling who cannot read if he/she is also participating in the Children's Summer Reading Program.
  6. Every 50 pages counts as 1 book, but extra pages cannot be applied to other books.
  7. eBooks from Camellia Net count as 1 book, and may only account for half of your reading goal.
  8. Audio books are not counted as books.
